Pot Use Out of Control 'It Grows Everywhere'

Ever since more European countries have decided to classify marijuana in the same category as alcohol and other legal substances (Britain and Italy this week) the UN Office on Drugs and Crime has been very upset.

"Marijuana use worldwide is out of control because the plant grows everywhere, is in high demand and is considered by many to be harmless" the UN agency said.

Antonio Maria Costa is the executive director of the agency and points out that governments around the world generally have succeeded in containing use of heroin, cocaine and amphetamines, marijuana is a different story.

Why is it a different story? Costa answers, "It's out of control in supply because it's a weed; it grows everywhere. It's out of control in demand because it's erroneously considered a light drug".

Now if this natural plant that grows everywhere is now being considered a "light drug" by many countries...maybe because countries and citizens of the world aren't feeding into the UN's and other government's propaganda. This plant that has been growing here for thousands of years was never considered an "epidemic" till the last 100 years.

The UN estimates that there are 160 Million cannabis users in the world today.

Provide real studies showing that marijuana is a great danger to public health and society and then the governments might change theire minds...untill then toke up!

Britain 'deserves its drug problems' says UN

By Andy McSmith and Stephen Castle

Cannabis use has turned into a pandemic that is causing almost as much harm as cocaine or heroin, the head of the United Nations anti-drugs office says. He criticised governments, such as the UK’s, which have downgraded the cannabis threat, saying that they have got the “drug problem they deserve”.

An ice tea containing cannabis extract is hitting stores in the UK.

C-Ice Swiss Cannabis Ice Tea is being marketed for its health benefits.

All narcotic elements of the plant have been removed to make the drink legal.

But David Raynes, policy adviser at the National Drug Prevention Alliance UK, warned: "This is a normalisation of cannabis as an image in young people's minds. So many people come off the rails because of cannabis, particularly young boys and early teens."

The chilled black tea is described as having "added hemp blossom syrup with an extract of hemp bloom".

It comes in individual cardboard orange "cans" decorated with cannabis leaves and the slogan "fantastic natural feeling".

Produced by an Austrian company and using hemp grown in Switzerland, the product is already available on the Continent and in South Africa.

The £1.29 ready-to-drink cans are being distributed via health food shops.

Grass

I actually just saw the movie "Grass" for the first time yesterday evening. I didn't realize that the film was a compiled set of old films and interviews. Most of the old footage I have never seen before.

I found it really funny seeing government troops armed with guns attacking fields of grass on the sides of roads. They are fighting a war against nature. The film just reminded me how ridiculous and powerful government propaganda can be.

I'm going to see if I can rip one clip and put it up on YouTube because I don't think it's up on there yet, but it is one interview of many were the guy is talking about addictions and how there has to be strict penalties on anything that is addictive and meanwhile he's taking drags from a cigarette.

I guess when he found out that his cigarette is an addictive cancer stick, he changed his tune ;)

Pot is Bad

Pot is Bad

This is a hilarious "anti-pot ad" that has been making its rounds around the online marijuana community.

Its a Win for Both Sides

Americans spend $10 Billion a year on marijuana and the government gets none of that in taxes. Imgaine if it were taxed and regulated. Law enforcement would also save millons of dollars if they didn't have to arrest responsible marijuana smokers. Marijuana for consumers and tax money for the government, its a win-win for both.

Watch this video. Its an excellent clip from CNBC's "On The Money"

Welcome!

Welcome

This is the first post of the Weed For Thought blog. This blog will keep up with current Marijuana news, opinions and activism.

The reason I started this blog is because I, along with millions, believe it is in our civil rights to be able to tax and regulate the sale of marijuana. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me why it is illegal after reading numerous reports about the organic drug.

If you live a responsible life and use marijuana, then bookmark this page. I'll make sure to keep you happy with marijuana news and entertainment.
